Our story

The story began in the 1920's in the town of Châteauneuf-Val-Saint Donat which lies at the foot of the Lure Mountain...

... At that time, it was covered with lavender fields. Joséphine, the energic ancestor of the family, created a distillery of aromatic plants there: the Mouranchon Brothers Co. Nestor, the great uncle, settled as perfumer in Paris... Little by little, the products based on essential oils are supplemented by lavender in a canvas bag, soaps, eau de toilette.

In 1987, the grandchildren of Joséphine, Domy and Denis Vogade re-launched the family business. Inspired by the work of Marcel
Pagnol, particularly his ability to bring to life the fragrance of a flower through words, they called their company Lothantique.

Dynamism and know-how are the recipe and soon the company welcomed in 1998 a subsidiary in the United States, LOTHANTIQUE INC.

By changing century, LOTHANTIQUE moved to its brand new premises in Peyruis. Strong in its history, it defends a philosophy where the past is traced back by modernity. No generation conflict, therefore, but an enhancement of an authentic know-how with today's technologies.

In this company of thirty employees, we respect the savoir-vivre, the know-how and the environment. It is for this reason that products are carefully formulated for efficiency, safety and pleasure. Packaging made of recyclable materials, hunting for waste, respect for nature and animals !

2015, the year of changes… Lothantique signs two licenses with:

- Marcel Pagnol's Heirs
Since its creation, Lothantique has been immersed in the Pagnolian universe... Today, this association is obvious. As he wrote so well: "Lothantics are plants that grow only in books..." and today in our know-how.

- Miller and Bertaux perfumes
Behind the names of Francis Miller and Patrick Bertaux, a brand of exploration…
Their fragrances reflect the eclectic nature of their vision, and their travels, fragrances from nature, fragrances from art.

At the beginning of our first century and in memory of our dear grandmother, we reopened her old grimoires where, for so long, all her recipes had been buried. Proud of our roots and of our origins as perfume growers, we return to this time where products were created in harmony with nature, the earth, the flora and the human being!
Today, we affirm our values of savoir-vivre, know-how and environment. For a long time in a process of sustainable development, Lothantique goes a little further and offers products respectful of man and nature
